School Grants Scheme
Applications are now closed for the
2005 Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) and the
Institute of Physics small grants scheme (up to £400) designed
specifically for schools and colleges.

PPARC - Small Awards 2005
Provides funding for
communications and outreach projects covering any area of PPARC science
and technology. Partnerships between researchers and communications
professionals, educationalists or local museums/science centres are
encouraged, as are projects involving public discussions and debates.
Awards are for between £500 and £15,000.

PPARC - Large Awards 2005
A major awards scheme that
offers grants of up to £100,000. The scheme also awards
development grants of typically around £20-£30,000. Anyone
can apply but project teams must have strong links with PPARC's
scientific research community; partnerships between scientific and
other (eg educational) organisations are also encouraged.

Royal Society of Chemistry - Public Activities Small Grants Scheme
Aimed at events targeting the public. The maximum amount awarded is £250.

EPSRC - Partnerships for Public Awareness (PPA) awards scheme
Open to EPSRC grant holders and fellows only, the PPA awards are intended to support high quality public awareness projects.

Royal Society - Partnership Grants
Grants are available
for teachers and scientists or engineers to work together on exciting
investigations for 5-16 year olds. The maximum amount awarded is
£2,500.
