Debates with a Difference

As part of Einstein Year, ecsite-uk hosted a debate on nuclear energy and nuclear waste for 14-19 year olds on 2 and 5 December.

Over 300 young people at six different venues spent the morning battling with fun tasks related to the topic, and the afternoon discussing and exploring issues surrounding nuclear waste.

There were experts on hand covering all aspects of nuclear energy and nuclear waste, communication between the venues via video conferencing and an introductory film, shot by students for students. The outcomes of these events were fed into the government’s consultation on UK radioactive waste management.
